Clothes are Overrated

We are taught that we and how we dress are responsible for how men treat us. My question is where is the sense in that. First of all at no point in time does any person have any control over the behavior of another. The first question should be why men are taught that if a woman is dressed sexy then he has no reason to respect her and has the right to treat her any ole kind of way. That makes as much sense as white folks who say that black people had no rights they were bound to respect. If a woman was walking around but ass naked when a man sees here he has full control over his faculties and can decide to treat her with the decency and respect he would give any other human being or he could be nasty and disrespectful. If a man tells me that I need to put some clothes on for him to treat me with common courtesy and respect then I can correctly assume that he doesn’t respect women at all unless they conform to his idea of what they should do

Isn’t it funny though that men prefer women to dress sexy but only in environments that the men control and if it is for their pleasure. I’ve been doing this experiment in being naked. Mind you with my modesty upbringing being born and raised Muslim, cutting an arm or a leg off is easier than me being naked. And for days after I put up my naked picture on my space I was so uncomfortable. Felt all exposed and couldn’t even look at my picture. The thoughts running through my head were the ideas that I had been taught. That men would disrespect me. That men would consider me a sex object. That I was exposing myself and my biggest worry was what other people would think.

My first experience was that I receive a comparable number of hey sexy nice pic responses as I do from any of my other pictures. I did get a couple more picture comments though. My next realization was that what the fuck do I care and why am I judging myself according to how I have been taught to think with ideas that only serve to give men a free rein in not being accountable for their behavior and to oppress women. My question was why I was judging myself according to standards that I don’t even agree with. So I was like dammit it is my body. If I choose to go around naked, it is my choice.

And lastly what is wrong with being seen as a sex object. At some point or at least occasionally women want to be seen as sex objects. I am slowly but surely releasing my horror over being thought sexy and being found sexually attractive and embracing it as a natural, healthy and positive thing. And once again men don’t mind seeing women as sex objects but only under circumstances that they can control. I trust that I will see the day that women start living for themselves and do what they damn well please just because they feel like it.

Isn’t it interesting that we as women have been taught that it is sinful to use our bodies and our sensuality as part of our arsenal of abilities and assets to get what we want and need? What is the difference between a woman using her sex appeal and a man using his brute strength? There is no way that the universe would create males and females in such an unbalanced manner that each didn’t have its own unique strengths and weaknesses to balance out the other. And of course it is in men’s favor and our disfavor to be ashamed to use our assets to get what we want. Fuck that

So here is my scenario for all of the people who say that clothes do make the woman and if she is dressed like a ho then she should be treated like one and that men can’t help themselves:

If I took five women or similar look and build, lined them up in a row and dressed them in the identical outfit and took one man and recorded his thoughts and responses to each one, I can guarantee you that his response to each woman would be different. Because the reality is that yes your outer appearance and what you wear does have some bearing on how a man responds to you but that is only a part of the story it is far more important how you carry yourself, what kind of energy you are wearing your clothes in and the beliefs and ideas you are projecting on the world.

She out of choice is a bra or halter top with her belly out and a mini skirt or a long skirt with a split up the thigh. It’s driving me nuts, I’m feeling thrown away, used and discarded. I hate myself for putting up with his shit and feeling like I must stay. I hate that I’m still living this lie, that you’ve boxed yourself in because of your ego. Feeling that I must hang on because I’m too old, fat and fucked up in the head to find a better relationship. Well he’s better than that last guy. I’m sick and tired of playing games with him. But I’m too scared to start dating again. What if I might attract a worse guy. I’m feeling unworthy of anything better. Daddy I want to blame you for not being there you’re the reason why I have such fucked up relationships. Mama its your fault you put up with Daddy’s bullshit. That guy I used to be with that broke my heart made me like this. I’m so dumb for buying my man all this shit, trying secretly to keep him around. Ashamed because of my terrible relationship history. Feeling silly for I just can’t seem to get this relationship stuff right. At least I got a man a lot of girls can’t say that. I know he cheated but he’s changed, yeah right. Who am I lying to? Why am I trying to convince myself that this shit is different?
Do any of these ideas ring true for you. We all have our version of the same story. Learning to acknowledge your thoughts that reoccur in your head is the first step to letting go of them. Through my experiences after I noticed my insecurities I stopped letting them control me. I realized after I stopped blaming and feeling guilty for my past that I had to go through these things to become the woman I am. Now I appreciate myself and know that if my relationship doesn’t work out I’ll notice my lessons. As they say nothing happens to you it happens for you. I took responsibility of creating these disempowering relationships with guys who would never satisfy me unless they got brain transplants. I realized that me having all these negative beliefs about myself drove any man crazy. When a man is sure that you won’t go anywhere then he’ll start to disrespect you and not value the relationship as something he has to work to make better. Its my responsibility to take control of my life and what kind of relationship I’m in. I began to look in the mirror realizing that my man is a reflection of what I think about myself. So I decided to leave never look back focus on working on me. I found a man who sees my beauty through my remaining insecurities and I’ll leave if he’s stops seeing this in me.

For years I have been annoyed by this guy I went to school with. There are some people who know just the right way to bother or offend you. Well this guy seemed to go out of his way to seek me out to bother me. Anyway this particular guy is an insecure, male chauvinist rude pig, I can’t stand him. And there are few people that I can’t stand. But of course I am a woman so its been rammed and programmed in my head to be “NICE”.
I put with him and his annoying conversation whenever I couldn’t avoid him. He’d always find some reason to talk to me. He’d call me Ms. Hollywood (my boyfriend’s nickname) and that is just rude. For the last two years he’s been trying to get me to do his hair. I always made some excuse about being busy, having too much homework, or being preoccupied in some manner. I was not doing his hair, he wasn’t having his head between my legs for four hours under any circumstances.
The last time I was at my alma mater visiting my boyfriend, this guy found me again while I was sitting at the computer. He approaches me with this silly little grin and told me that he was going to have to get me to do his hair while I was there. I turned around looked him in the eye and told him, “that is not going to happen”. I smiled and went back to what I was doing. No explanations or excuses for him I felt no reason for them. I guess I’ve grown up because I didn’t realize what I had said. When he walked away without another word it registered how hurt he looked. My response had come out so blunt…it was like saying hell no but not being ignorant about it. I laughed to myself because he had bothered me far too long. For the rest of my stay he didn’t say a word to me, he’d just look at me from afar. It’s so great to be empowered!

A new woman has emerged

I’m playing this GAME, in 90 days I will accomplish these outrageous goals. The goals I set are to raise 5 million for Mooniez, launch my motorcycle club, lose 15 lbs., Channel 90 people in 90 days, write 90 days to becoming irresistible, and to write and record my album and get signed. I’m so excited about this journey of change the cells in my body are adjusting as if they have been starving for this structure and new way of thinking all along. Its scary when you’re forced to succeed. This is structured so you can’t fail, everybody likes to play and nobody wants to be the loser.
Everyday I’m coming to great realizations and learning new lessons. I’ve realized that I’ve lived my whole life being so scared to fail/succeed that I don’t even half step….I fourth or eight step my way through most things. I’ve realized that I usually give up right before I succeed and that I NEVER put my all into accomplishing something for me. I’ve been just waiting to see if things will happen for me, if my dreams are written in the stars then they will miraculously come true. The majority of the time when I’m offered ways to get closer to realizing my dreams I’d be so scared and paralyzed that I couldn’t take advantage of the blessings sent to me.
I’ve realized that I have been feeling guilty of being my outgoing, beautiful, personable, mischievous, intuitive, stubborn, crazy, creative self. The shame surrounding who I really am to the core has become a burden on me. I am ready to releasing these fears of being ostracized and rejected. These ideas that weren’t apparent in my conscious mind aren’t empowering and are not working for me.
This first week has been very stressful but I’ve never in my life felt as if I’m living and making quick strides towards my purpose everyday. Releasing these old ideas through tears, bouts of moodiness, moments of exhilaration, feelings of heaviness, feeling like I’ve donned on my wing have all led to a truly wonderful week for me. I’ll be sure to keep ya’ll updated on my progress.

Think back to when you ‘life and other peoples fears and limitations’ first started getting in the way and you began believing that your dream wasn’t possible. Take note of those thoughts and beliefs and step back and observe much how they have shaped your present reality. The idea is to identify and transform these beliefs and once you have done so then you can manifest however many of your childhood dreams you want because anything truly is possible.

I have finally grown to the point where I no longer feel that I have to apologize for being female. In the past I was always trying to prove to men that I was not ‘emotional’. That they could depend on me to not get all caught up in my feelings and take things personal. Not realizing that all I was doing was denying my self expression while catering to them and trying to not them uncomfortable when they were the one who had been disrespectful or hurtful in the first place. Isn’t it amazing how we females have been conditioned to respond against our own best interest..

Fuck that. From this point on I reserve the right to get as ‘crazy bitch’ and emotional as I deem necessary anytime I damn well please. I am no longer restricting my honest expression of emotion so that I won’t make a man uncomfortable. What I am feeling and thinking at the time is exactly what I am saying, doing and how I am acting. For the first time I now feel free enough to own my experience and tell a man that he has hurt my feelings and that I don’t appreciate it. Cry if I feel the need or express my displeasure at being disrespected and not treated like the Goddess I am.

I have no need to start saying mean and hateful things to anyone. The “No Apologies” mode of expression is really all about expressing what I AM FEELING and really doesn’t have much to do with the other person. It is so liberating to tell a someone exactly how you feel. Then you eliminate the going around harboring hurt and feeling angry at being disrespected. Get it off of your chest and move on. A great way to live I tell you.

It is interesting because men feel very entitled and quite comfortable to throw bitch fits and make ridiculous demands whenever they please. And we find ourselves automatically to trying to soothe, appease and please them without thinking twice about it. Yet we as women don’t feel the same entitlement to express ourselves and when we need to express ourselves we don’t feel worthy of doing so and are apologetic and even diminish our experiences.

What we feel, even if it is crazy, justified or not, you owe it to yourself to express it. Once you put it out in the open you can deal with the ramifications if any and then it is no longer an issue. Your body will thank you because it isn’t storing stress, your soul will be pleased because you honored her and your little girl will feel quite powerful and respected because you honestly and authentically spoke your mind.

I wish I had learned this years ago and saved myself lots of stress and hurt but it aint never too late to become a more empowered woman. And the next time a man starts on his women are so emotional tip just smile at him knowing that his complaint is actually a compliment in disguise and the only reason they don’t want us to go that route is because it is so difficult for them to deal with. And of course if a man were cool and respectful we would never have a reason to go there in the first place. Not to mention knowing that men are way more sensitive than women and have far fewer resources to process anykind of emotion. And of course this is our little secret.

So no more apologies. Enjoy embracing all of the wonderful vagaries and contradictions of being female and let them start working in your life for a more powerful, authentic, satisfied and irresistible you.

February 20, 2006-My goal in my relationship is to make my man fall in love with me over and over again. I’m constantly doing things to blow his mind, touch his heart, and well maybe I shouldn’t tell you what else I do! It’s a constant work in progress because I have to always work on loving myself more for this effort to be sincere. I believe if your man is awesome then satisfying your fantasies and his imagination is a must. Men want to feel taken care of, so you stroke their ego and they work extra hard to keep you happy.

So this Valentine’s I decided I was going to surprise my man with the greatest Valentine’s Day in his life. He’s far away in school in Texas and I’m living in California. My money and his money were funny so we had decided to spend the whole day on the phone. I hopped on the plane and headed to Texas after he went to bed. I made it to Texas after getting harassed the whole plane ride by this hilarious guy sitting next to me. He wound up biting my thigh while I was sleep and I had to knock him in the head, so you know my trip was wild!

I arrived at my alma mater and got dressed at my sister’s house. I’m so glad I followed my first mind and didn’t wear this little Valentine’s number on the plane. My seatmate would've had his hand up my skirt. The dress I wore was so short and tight it was ridiculous, described by this guy as painted on latex. I so strategically earlier that week figured out where his class was being held without him having a clue. I found his class and waited outside the classroom.

He came out the classroom and was in pure shock! His eyes got so big, he covered his mouth and had to look away and look back. He thought he was hallucinating because he missed me. For the rest of the day he had a smile so big, his spirit was soaring...his baby suprised him on Valentine's. It was the greatest surprise because he had absolutely no clue that I was coming. Nothing feels better than making my man smile.

February 21, 2006-I have decided that there is such thing as getting too wild. I arrived home today from my week long valentine. I took off my clothes to hop in the shower and noticed I had a line of bruises down the side of one of my breasts. How you get these kind of bruises i have no idea. I also have no earthly idea how or what night this happened. A couple days later I noticed my elbows looked a little too dark. I never pay any attention to my elbows. I'm always in the mirror but rarely if ever find myself checking how my elbows look. Almost everything my Mama taught me about men is absolutely, positively not true. Now I love my Mama and her advice on everything else is pretty sound but when it comes to men she was about as clueless as all the rest of us females. So we are going to debunk some of the most harmful myths, lies and dangerous ideas that we females constantly use that sabotage any possibility of us having a wonderful and amazing relationship where we are respected, satisfied, and treated like the Goddesses we are.

Myth Number 1:

Always be extra nice to your man no matter what he does, cater to his every need and always do the right thing even when he doesn’t, buy him nice expensive gifts and toys, it is your duty to give him sex whenever he wants it, you must change yourself for him if he asks you to and be the kind of girl he wants you to be, never, ever complain when he doesn’t treat you wonderfully, never demand what you need and automatically expect him to know what you want. If you do all of these things the better your man will treat you and the longer they will stay around.

Reality:

The more you love yourself and accept only treatment that honors and respects you,
the more honest and authentic you are about expressing your needs and requesting your wants, are nice to your man and cater to them if and only if they are treating you wonderfully, the better they treat you and the more they love, value and respect you and the longer they will stay around and most importantly the more satisfied and happy you will be.

Application:

I was always extra nice to my husband. I called when he didn’t call, I remembered his birthday and other holidays and bought him gifts when he barely remembered mine and would give me a call and was going out of his way if he sent me a card. I never complained and made excuses for him when he treated me shitty, never insisted on my needs being met and he treated me like the asshole he was. But he did stay around. I finally grew to the point where I loved and respected myself enough to accept that he couldn’t and wouldn’t honor and respect me.

After I began honestly and authentically expressing my needs and wants and he made no attempt to be nice, let alone please me in any way and I was not at all satisfied or happy in the relationship I left. I had allowed him to treat me so bad for so long and let him get away with murder and had been so faithful and uncomplaining and loyal that even when we separated he didn’t believe that I was really through with him and was going to divorce him. I finally got to the point where I realized that he was not worthy of my being nice or even cordial to him after all of the disrespect, lack of support and mistreatment and totally cut off all contact with him.

I told him to not contact me at all. If I needed to contact him I would. At first he stopped calling like I requested but then he started calling me cause he didn’t respect me enough to honor my request. I refused all his phone calls. I never replied to any of his email messages, if I needed to communicate with him it was through a family member. Didn’t acknowledge his birthday, Christmas, New Years or anything. After a month or two he finally started taking me seriously. He started sending me messages apologizing for his behavior, acknowledging how horrible he was to me and asking for my forgiveness. He eventually agreed to all of my terms and conditions for the divorce and even messages me online knowing that I will not respond just to say hello and ask how I am doing.

In other words a man that treated me like shit, had no respect for me whatsoever and didn’t do a single nice thing for me when we were married is now the nice, kind, cool man that I thought I fell in love with. Only now it is too late cauz I am no longer in love with him. However he treats me well and in any further interaction I will never have to worry about him disrespecting me again and not taking me serious. It took me having to end my marriage to learn my lessons about how to treat a man so that he treats you wonderfully but I have learned my lessons well and look forward to having a wonderful and amazing next relationship.

A few weeks ago I was talking to my boyfriend we were working out and he was laughing at me commenting go on how hard my nipples were. They poke through my sports bra every time I’m exercising. We spend a lot of time apart and have to find ways to “not cheat”. It can be quite a challenge, he better be glad he’s worth the wait. While he works out to relieve sexual tension, I attempt to work out to try the same thing and it just makes me hornier. The things that work for guys don’t work for me ,cold showers are useless and half the time playing with myself makes me want a man in my bed even more. January 18, 2006- Oh my god I’m so glad 2005 is over. Last November while hanging out at a festival we decided to go see the psychic. I had never cone it before and was so curious what my reading would be. Well she told me that this year I will see everything clearer. Damn, I hope I do. Because last year was quite foggy, I barely remember anything it’s all a blur in my head. Its seems as if her predictions put a hex on me. I’ve never had a hex put on me but I’m assuming that’s what it probably feels like. I couldn’t make a decision to save my life and everything was so confusing. I just came back from spending a month with my baby and it was really nice. I thought I was going to get tired of him but surprisingly I didn’t. I go through these phases when I‘m madly in love and appreciate him, then I start feeling trapped in the relationship because I’m not sure If I want to settle down just yet. I'm scared I'm going to regret later. There is so much (so many) to experience out there but I’m trying to be the best girlfriend I can be. I’m so confused sometimes. January 19, 2006- O.K. I just got back from vacation and my money is going to run out pretty soon! I was complaining to my friend about me having to get a job and he gave me a rather interesting suggestion. What was so crazy about it the whole proposition is that he was serious trying to help me! January 20, 2006- Lately I have been getting so much attention I’ve been doing these new EFT releasing old baggage techniques and I don’t know what kind of signals I’m sending out? Boy this is nice! Anyway, I walk out to my car and this guy at the other pump was like “Hey girl, can I talk to you?” He’s talking all loud, rude and macho so I paused and asked if he was talking to me. The owner of the gas station had followed me outside! He was grabbing the nozzle because he wanted to pump my gas in exchange for some conversation. He tells me to tell the guy he’s my husband. So that’s what I told him. Isn’t that being a cockblocker, I was happy for the interference on his part because that guy seemed annoying. The owner starts telling me how he’s been divorced for fifteen years waiting on me to show up, how he loves women like me, he offers me to come back in and get a drink to go with my trail mix ( why didn’t I think to ask him for some more gas), he was really hitting on me. I hated to break his heart but I told him I had a boyfriend. He says he’s been waiting 15 years and I was going to tell him I was taken. Then he proceeds to ask me to marry him. This was hilarious. He left an open invitation for whenever I was ready for him. I left to get back on the highway and guys are honking and smiling at me. I don’t know what was in the air? When I finally got to my friends house we were reminiscing about crazy stuff we did in college. He starts telling this story about how the best day in his life was when he saw me with no clothes on. I was sooooo confused because I couldn’t recall anything like this EVER happening. He was my homegirl’s ex-boyfriend and I don’t do my girls exes. Anyway he was talking about a time when we were playing some crazy game that involved taking off an item of clothing whenever you messed up. Somehow I ended up in the hot tub with my drawers on! Mind you we were all totally sober playing this game. He was talking about some guy I was interested in and I couldn’t remember who he was talking about. Crazy thing is that he had to keep telling me detail after detail to jog my brain into remembering this incident. It took me like 10 minutes to recall. If I don’t remember something like that, what the hell else have I done?????

"Your Little Girl" ...

I was ten years old when I decided that I was too old to play. So I determinedly put away my dolls, my beloved jump rope. packed up my skates, abandoned my bike and left my childhood permanently behind. The only thing that I allowed myself to play was sports and that was with much resistance from my father who didn’t think that girls really should play. Instead of playing I started working out, playing sports and reading. Since I have consistently ignored her, so my little girl was lonely and abandoned all of these years. Occasionally I would hear her clamoring for some love and attention and ruthlessly suppressed her, ignoring such a vast part of myself and denying myself her presence and the innocent delight of joyful fun in the process.

Recently I realized that it was time that I acknowledge ‘my little girl’ and welcome her back into my life. So I apologized to her and took out the time to shower her with love and the results have been amazing. I feel like I have opened the door and allowed the energy and zest for life I had when I was a kid back in. My everyday experiences now are similar to how they were when a girl and everything is so much fun again and the simplest things are once again highly anticipated and a big adventure.

Thrift Stores for lamps, throws, furniture big and small, wall decorations and eBay for anything and everything.

All of us were put on this earth to learn from others and share our special gifts. Life is about creating a balanced harmony through these relationships. If this is the case, why is it that we always are looking at the female next to us with mistrust, envy, and jealousy? I’ve had my fair share of these experiences and I’m sure you have too. From women hating me and keying my car because they want my man, women saying “look at this b*tch” because I happen look very attractive that day, to me assuming that other girls are promiscuous because of what they are wearing. My earliest memories of this sort of behavior started as a little girl, when my classmates didn’t want me to meet their boyfriends afraid that he might like me! All these years I though it was me with the problem! Never realizing what I possessed was my gift. After years of self hatred and not trusting other females, glimpses of my true self before all the hatred and I realized how lucky I was to be a woman. Everyday I embrace this idea more and more into my life I realize how powerful unleashing my incredibly irresistible sensuality really is. Its almost scary! The things I get by with just with my charm alone are ridiculous. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEING AN IRRESISTIBLE WOMAN!
